No Other Place To Be On September 19

Hey friends, this is Greg Rothstein, one of the PCW photographers. It is so wild to think we are just a few weeks away from Anniversary VIII.

I thought this week might be a good time to recap some of my favorite images of the year with maybe some extra comments that I’ve never shared before previously.

First, we have to talk about Jakob East and his rise in 2026.

Jakob always brings high energy to every match and the crowd loves it. When Jakob got his first win of the year, he was CROWD SURFED around the arena!  Who else does that!?

Jakob is a special guy to me.  He is someone who I always get a warm hello from and funny enough, Jakob was one of the first wrestlers I ever watched when I attended Anniversary VI.

Before entering the building, I was actually standing behind who I believe was Jakob’s mom and Taylor Yorke, and I got to just overhear little notes of how excited Jakob was and how excited his mom was to see him wrestle.

Knowing in a few weeks Jakob will be challenging for the SLAMU title, it feels like a full-circle moment for the guy who was on the pre-show two years ago.

Zamaya. Her. She. The Queen. The Best. The Top.

This is her world, and according to “Z”, anyone coming to PCW to challenge for her title is not welcome here.

I have to proceed with caution whenever I am backstage around Zamaya, but every once in a while, she gives me an extra second or two of her intensity for the camera.

This portrait of Zamaya is without question my favorite picture of 2025-2026.  It has been viewed the most times and for good reason.  It captures her energy perfectly.

Back in 2024, the MegaTest Warriors were best friends and it was almost like nothing could ever separate these two.

I don’t know if it was losing the PCW Tag Team Championship to the Pretty City Xpress, but ever since that loss, the platonic best friends have been at each others’ throats. At Anniversary VIII, a years’ worth of pent up anger and hatred between these two will come to a head.

Last year at Anniversary VII, Kevin Koa retained his PCW Heavyweight Championship against CJ Valor. Now, a year later after winning the #1 Contender Battle Royale in July, Koa finds himself as the challenger for Valor who now holds that very same championship.

CJ has the strength and speed, but Koa is cunning and always has help by his side in the form of the Infernal Sins. CJ Valor will need to stay locked in and focused if he wants to leave this match as champion.

And last but not least, our main event.  Yung Money challenges the Pretty City Xpress in a Best 2 out of 3 Falls match for the PCW Tag Team Championship.

I have been ringside and backstage for the entire journey. Yung Money has scratched and clawed their way in an attempt to dethrone the Pretty City Xpress, but every time, EVERY TIME, they fall just short.

On September 19th, these are not the same two young kids I met in 2024 challenging for the titles.  These are two brothers who will fight until their hands are being raised holding PCW Tag Team Championship high in the air for all their supports to see.

I am looking forward to another anniversary event with PCW and I hope to see many of you there. There is no other place like PCW.  Come see why on September 19^th.
